Parent Involvement

Humble ISD is fortunate to have parents who want to be involved in their children's education and extracurricular activities. Volunteers can be found at every school, performing tasks that free teachers to devote more time to their students. Some volunteers work one-on-one with students who are having difficulty keeping up with their classmates while others make copies or work a few hours in the library each month.

Most campuses have active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) or Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) chapters. These groups organize volunteers, raise money for equipment and improvements not covered in the schools' budgets and show appreciation to teachers and staff on a regular basis. They also plant trees and flowers, donate playground equipment and sponsor special activities such as Art Masterpiece, the McGruff safety program, outside speakers, programs, and cultural arts for the students.
